One pound: Take 500 calories less in a day than your usual calories to loose a pound per week. Cut your calories by eating less carbohydrates and fat not the proteins from your usual daily diet to minimize muscle loss. Also do light weight lifting to increase muscle mass if there is no contrindication doing so regarding your physical condition.

3-5 lbs/month: is generally considered a safe goal for weight loss.Conserving muscle mass is accomplished by maintaining a good protein intake, exercising regularly , and not losing too fast.

See below: To minimize muscle loss aim to loose no more than1.5-2 pounds of fat/week and eat enough protein 3-6 times a day: at least 1 gram/pound of body weight. **Strength training during weight loss is important and will also help to minimize loss of muscle. Weight loss: Fat loss is very variable. One lbs. of fat contains 3,500 calories. Weight loss management is usually managed with diet (less calories), Phentermine, exercise 3-5 times a week, for 1,5-2 hours, Some patients may loose up to a pound a day , and others a pound a week. The combination of diet and physical activity will enhance muscle mass gain, and loss of fat tissue.
