A member asked:

I'm on tegretol 100mg 3x daily and my doctor just gave me samples of latuda (lurasidone) 20 and 40 mg. what interactions can i expect?

Expect none.: But be on the lookout for some. These medicines are metabolized by the same enzyme, and therefore you might see initially a stronger effect from one or the other; and, in time, as the enzyme adjusts, you might see that effect diminish. Your best bet is to use low doses of Latuda, (lurasidone) and increase, as needed in small amounts.

Drugs interact: Using Tegretol (carbamazepine) with Latuda (lurasidone) may decrease blood levels of lurasidone. This can make lurasidone less effective. Please see Drugs.Com drug interaction checker.
