No: Mupirocin has better coverage of what you need for skin/soft tissue possible infection than neosporin. Neosporin actually can cause reactions due to allergies against neomycin, one of its components.

Probably nothing: Facial injuries rarely become infected because the blood supply is so rich. If there are sutures, washing once or twice a day with soap and water and then applying a small amount of Bacitracin or Mupirocin ointment should be optimum care. Some people develop allergies to the neomycin in neosporin, so i usually do not recommend it.
