What exactly does having high vldl while having low ldl in my lipid profile indicate?

Ldl: Vldl is a precursor of ldl. Both are'bad for you. May be a block in vldl conversion.

Perhaps High TG's: Patients with high triglyceride (tg's) levels often have increased levels of vldl with low or normal LDL levels. Tg's in vldl move into LDL and in return LDL sends cholesterol back into vldl. This same process happens with HDL cholesterol, depleting cholesterol from LDL and hdl, and thus lowering LDL and hdl, while vldl cholesterol increases.

What should i do to remove low LDL and to increse hdl.so that I can balance my lipid profile?
I exercise 5x/week; high fiber, low sugar diet; normal weight; low BP. I'm 40 and mostly healthy. But, my LDL-C is high (150-160 since 2012). The rest of my lipid panel looks fine. Would statins make sense? Or should I get my LDL-P checked first?
