Can metastic colon cancer cause stage 2 kidney disease ?

Eventually: Kidney function is calculated using a formula which contains your age. As you get older your kidney "function" declines as a result. Stage 2 "disease" is - in the big picture - relatively minor and may be related simply to your age. You may not need another explanation for your kidney "disease." However, your question was can kidney disease be caused by colon CA. Answer is yes.

Not likely: to have direct effect, such as spread to kidneys. But general illness of metastatic disease, medication side effect, dehydration, and many other causes can indirectly affect kidney function. Ask your oncologist for specific answer in this cae.

Not usual : Colon cancer itself doesn't cause kidney disease. Often the treatment of cancer can cause issues with kidney. Another issue is patient can develop other complications which can effect the kidney. Diarrhea, sepsis etc are usual issues in patients with cancer which can effect the kidney. hypertension or diabetes etc can develop kidney disease and has no connection with cancer.

Abnormal labs: Renal function tests will be affected as the liver fails by several mechanisms. BUN and creatinine can be expected to rise. There won't be actual anatomic pathology or a name-able disease in the kidney. I'd urge you to spend as much good time as you can and your loved one wants together, and not focus too much on the arcana of medicine. The relationship is key now.

No: Over a 40 yr. period I have only seen one colon cancer spread to renal parenchyma. Stage 2 kidney cancer is due to a lesion arising in kidney parenchyma and does not represent metastatic tumor to kidney. The lesion that does spread to kidney and eventually spreads though very rare is adenoCa of lung spead to kidney. If no lung lesion we are essentially talking about a primary kidney tumor

No relationship: Colon Cancer has nothing to do with Kidney cancer. These are two different types of Cancer. of course there is a small chance that colon cancer could have spread to involve your kidney. The only way to tell this difference is a biopsy of the kidney tumor and microscopic examination as the cells of these two cancers will look different from each other.

Not likely: Unless the colon cancer somehow affects your kidneys they could get blocked which could cause some worsening of kidney function
