Bilirubin: the high bilirubin will not cause death in this situation, it likely is a sign that the bile ducts are blocked up by metastatic cancer in the liver.

Comfort measures: The jaundice won't cause death itself, but will make for discomfort like itchiness. Death in advanced cancer usually comes from infection or vital structure failure. So do your best to treat any infections and treat any symptoms of pain or itchiness. Best to make sure that relationships are in best shape with loved ones. That's the best comfort.
