Unlikely: Most early stage colon cancers cause no symptoms at all. Very advanced colon cancers can grow and invade nearby structures, potentially causing pain. Colon cancer can also spread to the bones, which may cause back pain. However, back pain is a common symptom, and the vast majority of patients who are experiencing back pain do not have any cancer. See your doctor if you are concerned.
