Yes, can be normal..: Changes in the consistency of stool can occur, and be considered normal, with any and all alterations in what goes into you gastrointestinal tract: from changes in food, beverages, medications, supplements, even gum! The stool consistency you describe sounds like it needs more bulk: gradually add some fiber in the form of whole grain cereal, bread, brown rice, possibly some vegetables.
