I eat healthy as a vegetarian. my b-12, iron, etc. tests are normal. i had a vegan multivitamin suggested to me. are vitamins actually beneficial?

Yes, wise insurance: It's best to get nutrients via diet but the vast majority of Americans are deficient in at least some vitamins and minerals. There is good evidence that intakes above what most people get via diet can protect against heart disease, cancer etc. I advise everyone take a good mulitvit. plus at least 500 mg of Vit C 2x/day and at least 5000 iu of D3 (esp. fall/winter). Vegetarian Diet: Vitamins are beneficial for Health. I commend you for eating healthy as a Vegetarian. Your Healthy Vegetarian Diet has most of the Vitamins. Fruits have Vitamin C and Folic acid Vegetables have Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Folic acid. Vitamin B12 is in Soy milk, Dairy products, Eggs, Veggie burgers fortified with vitamin B12. Vitamin D is in Vitamin D-fortified soy milk, cow's milk, and Eggs.
