Tooth pain: it is very important that you get your teeth fixed in general. the way you do it frankly is not important. its just not good to have bacterial infections in your mouth, because untreated can compromise the baby or your health.

If possible save it: A root canal actually is less painful in the long run and less expensive when your goal is to keep.all of your teeth. Extractions do have potential risks just as bad or worse than root canals

Ask your dentist: An infected tooth can cause so much bone damage around it that it might make the tooth loose. If the prognosis of a tooth after doing a root canal is poor then a dental implant may be the better option. Ask your dentist for more information before root canal is performed. Pregnancy is not a reason to defer routine dental care or treatment. Good luck!

Ask your Dentist: Talk your options over with your Dentist. Root Canal/crown is usually a better option than removal/implant/crown, and is generally less expensive. The choice will depend on the amount of destruction to the tooth and surrounding tissues caused by the infection that is causing your pain. The important thing for both you and your baby is to control the infection quickly.

Save your tooth: If possible, save the tooth period. The dentist will contact your ob/gyn for any treatment that is needed and the prime time to do it.
