Save it if possible: Its always best to save a tooth if possible but sometimes the treatment is too expensive or not feasible. You can always pull it now and try to replace it as soon as you can. The longer it goes unreplaced, the more likely tooth movement can trow off your bite. Maybe in a year or so you could afford a replacement.

Chew?: Can you chew without #20? Yes. But if you loose a tooth surrounding and opposing teeth will tip/drift/extrude into the extraction space. Root canal + crown or extraction + implant/crown preferable to extraction alone.
