A member asked:

Is there any form of hiv testing that is somewhat accurate at 2 weeks? i know the antibody test is not. what about p24 or rna test?

Yes,: 1-3 weeks after infection, there will be enough viral material for a positive p24 or RNA test result.

HIV testing: the best and accurate way is to check a HIV RNA viral load. if the viral load is up you have an active infection. You need to then be followed closely by a infectious disease specialist, obtain genome testing, and test the virus for resistant patterns so that HAART therapy can be tailored accordingly.
