COPD & OSA: The overlap of these two conditions can be very dangerous. Stopping smoking is a great start! To gauge you lung capacity you nee to have Pulmonary Function Test with DLCO AND A CHEST CT. Treatment with inhalers can help immensely. With OSA, weight loss is crucial. You also should see an ENT for surgery consult UPP FOR OSA. This will open up your anatomical airway and help both issues

Yes, but: The single most important thing a smoker can do to halt COPD is to stop smoking. That said, there is often a temporary paradoxical worsening of breathing after quitting because smoke is irritating and induces one to cough out phlegm that obstructs airways. Over time, secretions return to normal, airways inflammation subsides, cilia may return, and overall lung function improves. Congrats!
