30-60 mg/day: Too much zinc can be hazardous but a dose of 30-60 mg of zinc, ideally as zinc picolinate, is safe and effective. This should be balanced with copper in a 1:10-15 ratio, so 2-4 mg of copper. Many zinc supplements are balanced with the proper amount of copper. Many other vitamins and minerals can help.
