A member asked:

Rosacea sufferer. very oily face with no active acne or redness. why was i prescribed doxycycline if it has no effect on sebum?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rosacea: Oral antibiotics are commonly prescribed to patients with moderate rosacea. Tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline and amoxicillin are among the many oral antibiotics commonly prescribed and they actually help reduce inflammation and pimples in rosacea. Cannot comment about why your doctor prescribed what they did. Ask them.
