Sure: America is a free country, so a patient is free to choose her doctors, and her doctors are free to accept her or not accept her as a patient. Otherwise, we would not be free. Sometimes, one's insurance plan has limitations, so buy PPO (instead of HMO) insurance so that a referral should not be needed. Also, seeing a doctor outside the network (may be self-pay) should not require a referral.

Hello how are you? I have been told I have a narrow ear canal, suffer from wax but still don't think I hear well even after I have them syringed. My question is could having a narrow ear canal affect hearing?
My eardrums are very inflamed, hearing is muffled and tinnitus is bad. No pain, earache or fever. My ear canals have constant clear odorless fluid and it is worse during the night. OTC suggestions for relief until I can see an ENT?
I suspect that my ear canal is blocked after using an earbud to clear wax. Hearing has been impaired since. No pain or imbalance so I dont suspect an eardrum rupture/tear?
