Went to ear doctor recently they found that my left ear canal looks larger than last time i went, hearing test shows normal hearing, clean ears. she said this is nothing to be worried about, can you please tell me what this means, ent didn't tell me?

Good evening doctors. I had a hearing test, which showed mild hearing loss in BOTH ears. When I asked the ENT if I needed hearing aids, the ENT said no. With total respect to the ENT, why would hearing aids for mild hearing loss in both ears not help?
