About the bump on side of the toe, it isn't on the side of the foot like a bunion, it's actually on the toe?

Arthritis : if you have arthritis in the big toe you can get a bump on top. This is usually presenting with decreased range of motion in the joint.

Toe Bump.: There are only so many things it can possibly be. First of all, it is either involves soft tissue, bone or both. Soft tissue bumps could be things like bursa, synovial cyst or similar structures. Bone bump could be enlargement of the base of the distal toe bone, or enlargement of the head of the proximal toe bone. The whole bump structure could be as a result of arthritis secondary to trauma.
