Your cholesterol: will initially rise after stopping statins, like taking the lid off a jack-in-the-box. The level will eventually return to what is normal for your body. Diet accounts for about 15-20 % of your lab values. Depending on your lab values, Marine Fish oil of good quality and proper dose and/or red yeast rice will lower levels well. Peace and good health. PS: Eggs are good, yolk and all.

Depends: Statin have pleiotropic benefits: antilipids, anit-inflammatory, endothelium stabilization. So depending on yr overall risk for heart disease (fam history, personal history of HTN, Diabetes, obesity, etc) ought to make an individualised decision on whether you can stop statin treatment. You need to discuss with yr cardiologist. You should maintain heart healthy lifestyle on or off statins!
