No reason to interrupt the OTC preparation, as your blood lipid study should be taken after 12 hrs of nocturnal fasting.

If I were your attending physician I would like to find out how effective the sterol is in reducing your total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. Omitting the sterol even for a short time would confuse me as to efficacy. Sterols work by lowering the amount of cholesterol that enters your body and are taken daily with your food.
