Cranial neuropathy: I would recommend seeing a neurologist. In your age group, the most common cause is diabetes but you report being In otherwise good health. Other causes could include stroke, vitamin deficiency, hydrocephalus or myasthenia gravis. If the double vision is variable or worse later in the day, consider ocular myasthenia gravis. An edrophonium test may show improvement, and it is a treatable cause!
