Talk to your doctor : Typically a slow taper down over several weeks is best to prevent withdrawal. Some people can tolerate a faster taper than others. For instance, some people reduce their dose by 5mg per day per week in order to be off the valium in three weeks. Some people experience anxiety and have to take it slower.

Benzo: It is beat that you consult with your physician regarding a tapering dose of Valium. Reducing too quickly puts you at risk for withdrawal symptoms and possibly seizures.

Fair ?: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for the best schedule for your overall health. You can find patterns online too - but each is unique. Each week or so is often fine to step down. Just notice how you feel - Good going! You'll be so pleased!
