Valium: is not a pain medication. A headache limited to one side is less likely to be a tension headache (which might respond to a benzodiazapine). This would not be the medication that I would recommend for a unilateral headache.

Not really: Advil (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen) ( naproxyn sodioum ) would be the drugs of choice, assuming you are not allergic to these medications.
