i have a sore throat after drinking straight up shots of whiskey and rum, is this normal? and how long will it last approximately?

Alcohol pharyngitis?: As a general rule, alcohol alone should not be producing a sore throat. Although anything is possible, suspect you may have acquired a viral infection. Without seeing you and assessing this it is impossible to say how long it will last.
