My throat is really painful if i gulp water or other drink. normal swallowing is fine. it's not a sore throat type pain but it feels intense.

Sore throat : If you have any other signs and symptoms of a cold, then you could have an infection. If not an infection, then the next most like problem is reflux. Try an anti reflux med like over the counter Pepcid ac or zantac (ranitidine). Longer term you can take Prilosec (omeprazole) once or twice a day. Try this first for a week then see a doctor if no improvement good luck.
