My wife has undiagnosed seizures when she has high anxiety. when she takes welbutrin, they seem less aggressive and less frequent. why is that?

Wellbutrin (bupropion): Stress can trigger seizures and should be treated. Paradoxically Wellbutrin can cause seizures by lowering her seizure threshold. She would do better to try a different approach to the anxiety reaction with perhaps Lexapro or Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride). These are SSRIs which can also lower seizure threshold but not to the degree Wellbutrin can
