What are my chances of having a seizure of wellbutrin (bupropion) 150mgs 1x daily if i've never experienced seizures before? if so what causes it?

See below: You should discuss your specific risk profile with your primary care doc. Wellbutrin can cause seizures in those who have a risk for seizures. Although seizure risk is clearest when someone already has had an event, for many this means finding out when they are adults.

Brain irritation: Certain brain active medications can be irritative to the brain. This has been shown to be true with wellbutrin (bupropion). Seizures can occur at any dose, but more often with high dose and with a prior history and/or family history of seizures. It is a significant risk, but just be weighed with any significant benefit. The risk of seizures is low but definite.

Low risk: With the immediate release formulatiom the risk was 4/1000 at doses up to 400 mgs, increasing to 28/1000 in dose between 600-800 mgs (7x greater). The seizure rate for the sustained-release formulation decreased to 1/1000 at doses of up to 300 mg per day.
