Is it good practice or overkill to sanitize new grooming implements such as a new safety razor, nail clipper etc. ?

Could be overkill: Life is never 100% safe. If we aren't willing to live with some risks, we can't live at all, not even locked within our own homes. So, live freely and use those razors and nail clippers right out of their boxes.
