No: Neither purell or any similar sanitizer makes you sick, but you can dry out the affected surfaces. Germs make you sick but the rest of your body is coated with a bountiful selection of happy, non-invasive (good ) bacteria that will always be ready to re- colonize the surfaces over time. You can always overdo something. Your chances of encountering a "bad" germ are determined by exposures.
