A member asked:

Is putting hand sanitizer on a small cut going to infect it? i know it would burn and wouldn't do much good but will it get infected?

Hand Sanitizer ...: in small amounts will not harm an open cut. In order for an open cut to heal best and not get infected, a small amount of antibiotic cream like Neosporin should be applied and it should be covered with a sterile bandage changed daily until it fully heals. In the future, remember that washing with soap and water will always remove more bacteria than using hand sanitizer.

Hand sanitizer: will not cause a wound infection, but on the other hand is not the most reliable way to prevent one.
