My 5yo got an ear infection with a high fever and cold the day after her bivalent covid vaccine. will her body still mount an appropriate immune response to the vaccine?

It is estimated the usual toddler encounters and deals with about a hundred immune challenges daily. The coincidence of the vaccine administration and a uri/ear infection would not deter the immune system. It is an amazing system that deals with a lot of things simultaneously.

The response should still be fine. Test for Flu and COVID-19 as indicated by your physician. Rinsing nasal passages is often effective in reducing the symptoms.
