A frozen bottle of water fell out of my freezer and landed on my ankle. ankle is swollen and painful. could this have hipped a bone or worse?

Fracture: Yes, i had a patient recently you had a similar incident and fractured their fibula. Thankfully it was non displaced and only required a cam boot for 8 weeks. But you should get an x-ray from your local foot and ankle specialist.

Possible fracture: Get an x-ray first to see if there is a fracture. Most of us have had patients do the same. My latest was thanksgiving, opens freezer 20lbs turkey fell on her ankle and was in surgery 3 days later to have displaced fracture fixed!
