Bad sprain: Sounds like a bad sprain or tear (discoloration implies bleeding or bruising)...Go back to your orthopedist for a re-check.

Achilles: Wrapping it is not a bad idea compression to stabilize the tendon and limit rom is important. Might be to tight for cause of neuropathy or are you diabetic.
