Two problems: The diverticuli are common and called diverticulosis. It is a problem if they get inflamed or if they rupture. The collapsed transverse colon depends on the reason for the collapse. It can be a normal or a problem. You need to discuss with your physicians and your gastroentrologist.

I had a CT scan with neutral contrast and IV contrast. The only real finding was a rare distal colonic diverticula. What does this mean as rare. Not diverticulitis was found. What is the next steps and treatment for this?
No diverticula found on colonoscopy. GI says could still be present on outside of colon and only seen on CT. May be source of LLQ pain. Is this right?
