Colonoscopy: Colonoscopy, that you planning, should settle the issue. Wish you good health! Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Cause of wheezing: Usually this is viral induced in a 2 year old, especially if other children are sick at his daycare. He may benefit from nebulized saline, supplemental oxegen and a trial of steroids. Antibiotics usually not needed with wheezing unless cxr shows consolidation. Get all smokers out of the house till child turns 18.

See your gyn: See your gyn. That's what i would do. Gyn is in a better position to evaluate, and manage this particular issue.

Bronchospasm ....: You may have some bronchospasm contributing to your symptoms. Perhaps a trial of a bronchodilator inhaler with a steroid inhaler would be worthwhile to see if the cough/congestion resolves further. You may have partial treatment with your current regimen. See your doctor to try this approach. If you smoke, you need to quit to decrease airway inflammation.

I would add try nasal saline and pillow/mattress covers, since your symptoms improved following treatment for allergies.
