Primary tx: Steroids are still primary treatment for minimal change disease; however, treatment is usually limited, as remission is often achieved in a matter of months, with a slow taper off over the following two years or so. If yours can't be tapered off, there are alternatives such as Cyclophosphamide that can be used as steroid-sparing agents, but these require discussion with your nephrologist.
