Tonsil enlargement: I agree with your ENT, especially if he did a physical exam of your throat. Worrisome growths (tumors) tend to be painful. Raised areas around tonsils and base of tongue are common and often result of inflammation from acid reflux (GERD). You can try some anti-reflux therapy. Alternatively, can be "cobblestoning" from postnasal drip down back of throat, which is treated with allergy meds.
