Abscess?: I would not be overly concerned about waiting to see the ent. The tonsils tend to have many crevices that can get infected and/or form abscesses. Most if these resolve and warm salt water rinses may help. However if it should get worse or cause problems with swallowing or breathing or a very high fever, you may want to make an er visit.
