Needs further check: Having diabetes and high bp increases the risk of kidney disease. increased protein in the urine is the earliest signs of kidney involvement by these diseases. Protein measurement alone does not give any info.One should do urine microalbumin/creatinine ratio. This allows proper estimation of protein leakage in the urine.
