Find a Nephrologist : You have to know your blood urea and creatinine level ( BUN ; cr ) and the cr clearance, which shows how much you kidneys are working. To decrease protein in urine your dr. Put you on an ace inhibitor anti hypertensive medication which also prevents more damage to the kidney and your blood sugar need to be under control. (hba1c). If filtration rate drops.
