Sinusitis: It is often unnecessary to use antibiotics to treat acute sinusitis. Try using saline irrigation with a Neti-pot, decongestants (Afrin nasal spray, oral Sudafed, etc.), possibly nasal steroid spray and/or anti-allergy meds. Try to stay away from antibiotics when the complications can be worse than the original problem.
