No.: An infection limited to your sinuses should not cause shortness of breath. You may have trouble breathing through your nose, but you should be able to breathe normally through your mouth. If you have shortness of breath, the infection may have spread to your lungs and causes pneumonia. Shortness of breath needs immediate evaluation. Go to the ER.
