A member asked:

A1c was at 5.7 . i am not diabetic. i started to monitor my blood sugar and it is always 90-100 in the morning. i eat healthy and am thin( no processed foods at all and no sugar except for organic pears). my great aunts and uncle had type 2 diabetes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

An A1c of 5.7 translates to an average blood glucose level of 117 mg/dL. Between 5.7% and 6.4% is diagnosed as prediabetes. You are at the borderline. It would be prudent to consult your doctor. At a minimum, lose weight and start exercising at least 150 minutes/week. Talking to a nutritionist may help. https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/disease-prevention/diabetes-prevention/preventin
