A member asked:

I've had facial implants from rib cartilage, will moderate alcohol consumption (1-2 glasses of wine a night) interfere with ossification of the implan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should not effect it: To the best of my knowledge, alcohol consumption should not interfere with ossification unless it is marked intake. However, while it is possible for rib cartilage grafts to calcify, cartilage is placed (as opposed to bone grafts) in order to avoid ossification.
