U took 1st step: This sounds like a classic eating disorder and it is fortunate that you acknowledged it early and are motivated for change. You can see how miserable is has made you already -- many like you never catch onto this. Get right with your physician; he/she will respect and admire you for your courage & there's no reason to be embarrassed. You'll get reprogrammed & life will be much better.

Eating disorder: You re right, you are obsessed - with food, eating, not eating, body image. This is a mental health issue, not a physical one. Our relationships to food and with our bodies are deeply connected to emotions and triggers that we may not be aware of. Please find a mental health therapist to help you explore and understand what drives your binging, fear and guilt around food; you can overcome this.
