No and no: You can't walk in - cardiologists generally do not see peple without an appointment. But you don't have to have a referral either. Many cardiologists will accept self-referrals. Just call up and ask to make an appointment. Albert einstein medical school is in the bronx and has an excellent reputation - give them a call for an appointmentl.

Cardiologist: You probably could call a cardiologists office and request an appointment without an appointment. If you're in a health plan, you may need a referral.
