See below: If you don't have any abnormal heart rhythm condition, then don't worry about the recent fda warning. That's what that was about it. As for side effects, every medicine has side effects but if you have a bacterial infection that can be treated with azithromycin, then the benefits outweigh the risks. For some perspective, tylenol (acetaminophen) has a long list of side effects, some potentially fatal.

Azithromycin: This is generally one of the safest products around. If you read fda warnings, although they are correct, many are of rare reactions, and there are virtually no drugs available that do not have some reactions. The basic question is whether the benefits outweigh the potential risks, and only you can make that determination.
