Asacol (mesalamine) : Asacol (mesalamine) is a medicine used to treat inflammation in the colon. Crohn's disease can involve other parts of the GI tract as well. This may be causing your symptoms. Asacol (mesalamine) side effects are usually those of headache and nausea. A lump in your throat may also be due to acid reflux.
