How can you get rid of mucus in your throat ? have had lesion and ulcer in throat almost a year ago havent been back to doctor since but think its gone. still alot mucus salt water gargle and a nose saline isnt helping any suggestions? thank you

At age 50...: Nose and throat symptoms can be from cold viruses, strep throat, allergies, irritants, etc... Sometimes, it can be difficult to tell what the cause is. For symptoms lasting days, it's more likely allergies, irritation, or infection. Doctors have rapid tests for strep, to help diagnose what the cause most likely is. For a persistent symptom at age 50, a doctor will worry a bit about cancer too.
