Low calorie foods: Helpful weight loss diets include natural foods that take time to chew but contain few calories. Examples include carrots, celery, and iceberg lettuce (without salad dressing). When shopping for fruits, buy small ones no bigger than a tennis ball, because fruits contain natural sugar. Drinks without calories include water and green tea. A calorie is a calorie, regardless of where it comes from.

Low calorie: The entire diet industry is based on simple principle of calorie balance. You either control calorie intake with diet or burn calories with ultimate effect of negative calories to lose weight. With this in mind, all you have to focus on low calorie foods. If you choose low calorie options that you like, there is higher chance that it will last longer.

It varies: We are all genetically unique so there is no single diet perfect for everyone. But most people will lose weight by minimizing high-glycemic foods like grains, sugar & potatoes (see http://www.Glycemicindex.Com/) & avoiding fried/fatty foods. Emphasize vegetables & fruits, beans, organically raised eggs & meats & wild seafood. Dairy, nuts seeds & whole grains can be eaten in moderation.
